The Makau Learning Management System
The Makau Learning Management System (LMS) is included with purchase of a Makau Learning Library or a Makau Learning Appliance.
Levels of Security
The LMS provides two levels of security Student and Administrator. Both are password secured and allow access to the student management and administrator management features respectively.
Student Management Features
Login and password for each student
- Student can self- register (no access to courses through self registration until courses assigned by administrator)
Student Main Menu Screen
- View list of courses student can be accessed
- View list of most recent courses reviewed
- Edit personal information
- Change password
- Use registration code(s) – Administrator can setup registration codes to allow students to self register for course/class assignments
- View courses available on the Makau Learning Library/Appliance
- View course expiration dates
- View completed courses, test scores, and dates of completion
Student Courses
Student can launch any authorized course for the class/course enrollment period.
- View course outline
- View and print course study guides (average 50 to 75 pages for each course module)
- View course from beginning to end, section, or individual sub section
- Quizzes for each sub section
- Exercises for each sub section
- Post exam for course module
- Quiz and test scores for each subsection and module
- View and/or print individual quiz or test answers
Administrator Features
Administrator has the same features as student with the following additional features.
- Create, delete, view, edit students
- Import students from standard comma delimited format
- Create registration codes – can be used to allow students to self register and control registration
- Check updates – administrator can check for new course and LMS updates and run install routine. Makau validates customer’s license code to permit download of updates
- Update license code – easy subscription renewal to extend MLL/MLA term of license
- Assign and remove course assignments for students
- View course assignments to students
- Create, delete, and edit classes (function to assign courses to classes/groups for easy course assignments to large groups of students)
- Add or remove students to classes/groups
- View Class/Group membership
- Add or remove courses to classes/groups
- View course assignments
Administrator Reporting
Student Reports – by individual student
- Summary of course sections taken by student
- Dates and times of course sections taken
- Scores for each course test and quiz taken
- View and print individual answers of quizzes and tests with correct and incorrect answer
Course Reports – activity and scores by course by student
- Summary view of course sections taken for each student
- Dates and times of course sections taken
- Scores for each course test and quiz taken
- View and print individual answers of quizzes and tests with correct and incorrect answers
Class/Group Reports – activity and scores by class/group by student
- Summary view of course sections taken for each student
- Dates and times of course sections taken
- Scores for each course test and quiz taken
- View and print individual answers of quizzes and tests with correct and incorrect answers
Summary Reports – ad hoc reporting capabilities

LMS Technical Specifications
Video instruction and study guides are delivered to the user in Macromedia Flash format provided with standard web browsers.
